Humanscale

Humanscale Consulting specializes in the development, implementation, and management of corporate ergonomics programs. Whether your organization is looking to augment your existing ergonomics program or launch a new program, Humanscale’s team of board certified ergonomists can help take your program to the next level.

Our research-based interactive certification programs and program development workshops are aimed at building in-house ergonomics expertise. Humanscale’s employee level training programs raise ergonomics awareness, improve worker comfort, and reduce injury risks

At Humanscale, we employ a six-phase approach to ergonomic program implementation. Throughout the process, we work with your team of in-house and external stakeholders to identify gaps, streamline workflows and benchmark against world-class programs. Establishing KPIs and performance metrics is an essential step for evaluating the effectiveness of the program.

YOU’VE PROBABLY GIVEN more thought to the mattress you sleep on than the chair you sit on. That’s fine! Sleep is extremely important. But if you spend several hours—more than eight, if you’re like me—at your desk, it’s a good idea to give the humble chair more attention. Finding the best office chair is not just about finding a comfortable seat. The right materials can whisk away body heat, and adjustability options can tailor the chair to your body. We’ve spent the past two years sitting on more than 40 office chairs, and these are our favorites.

Our award-winning office solutions, including self-adjusting seating, sit/stand desks, monitor arms and task lighting, inspire movement and support the user in every posture.

The Humanscale Design Studio, based in New York City, abides by the philosophy that good design achieves more with less. Function, simplicity, and longevity, and sustainability are at the core of all our designs. When thinking through the design and manufacturing of each product, we carefully consider the materials and resources used, in aim of creating an overall Net Positive impact.

We are known for our history of collaboration with the legendary designer Niels Diffrient, who designed many of our task chairs, including the iconic Freedom chair — the first self-adjusting chair without manual knobs and levers. We also partner with other esteemed industrial designers, including Don Chadwick and Todd Bracher. Our innovations have been honored with more than 200 prestigious awards since 2007 and featured in various museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art.
